Today I attended the funeral to celebrate the life of Kathy Hummer. Although I did not know her extremely well, her life has truly influenced mine. As I left her funeral today, I felt challenged and inspired by the way she lived her life. Kathy was such an encouragement to others and she truly blessed everyone who knew her. Kathy was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer a little under two years ago. Kathy was such a fighter and had the most amazing attitude through it all. I was so saddened to hear of her passing this past week.
Her funeral today gave me more of an insight of who she was. Her husband and children are such incredible people and you can see Kathy's fingerprints on their lives. The Eulogy's that were given today left me with goosebumps. Kathy truly lived her life to the fullest and she left a lasting impression on many, many people. I left her funeral inspired. Inspired to be a better wife, mother, daughter and friend. Inspired to live life to the fullest, encourage others and to be selfless. To read more, journal more, send notes of encouragement more, live more and love more.
When I first had Graham, I kept getting reoccurring mastitis that left me very sick and discouraged. Sweet Kathy who was dealing with her own terminal illness sent me an encouraging card along with a gift card. Isn't that incredible? And that is just who she is...numerous stories were shared today of how Kathy often did that for other people. They joked that she kept the postal services in businesses with all the cards and packages she sent. Her nick name was "cookie mom" because she always had yummy treats to give out. I could go on and on about how wonderful of a woman she is.
It was shared that in the final days of her life, Kathy shared with her daughter Jenny, that she was dying. Her daughter asked her what that was like and Kathy replied in her cheerful manner, "fantastic!!!". Isn't that so neat? She knew where she was going. She had the assurance that life was not going to end forever, but that she was going to see her maker face to face. She was going to be healed, not on earth, but in heaven. It's devastating that Kathy can no longer be here on this earth, but she truly, absolutely, with out a doubt has left a legacy. I wonder how many more people will end up in heaven because of her.
Please keep the Hummer family in your prayers!

Lil stinker :).
So the other day I put Graham down for his nap and he wanted nothing of it. He began crying, then screaming crying and continued for quite sometime. I decided to go peek in on him after 15 minutes of crying and this is what I found:

I laughed so hard and left his room to go grab the camera. He then proceeded to cry even louder. I could not help but laugh. Gosh, I'm such a lucky momma.....I'm so in love with this little guy :). He steals my heart every single day.
He is mobile now :). He's starting to really get the hang of crawling. It's so so cute to watch. He also is able to go from laying down to sitting up on his own. My little baby is growing up. SO FAST.

Double the Blessing

Charlie James (5lbs, 6 oz) & Henry Joseph (4lbs, 12oz) were born one minute apart on June 6, 2010. Rachel ended up having to have an emergency C-section due to her blood pressure spiking, showing signs of pre eclampsia. Rachel did amazing and was so calm, brave and strong!!! Jeff and Rachel are so so in love and feel so blessed. They are such precious little babies!! So so happy Graham has cousins so close in age! I miss them already and can't wait to go visit them again tomorrow!!!!

Okay, so I'm a hypocrite.
So in my last blog, I talked about the importance of supporting the local buisnesses rather than the chain restaurants/businesses.
I really do try to incorporate that belief often, HOWEVER, there is an exception. I can break my own rules right??
Over the past few months, John and I have really changed the way we eat. We have turned full circle and are eating mainly organic foods. A few of my friends who live in big cities (shoutout to KRISTIN in Cali and Kelly in Indy!!) talk about Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. I am always so jealous when I hear about thier healthy food options. Where I live, we are greatly missing those options.
HOWEVER (am I allowed to say that twice???), I am super impressed with Meijer's line of organic items. They are phenomincal and have the USDA symbol on all of their organic stuff!!! Meijer's organic line is NOT to be confused with the meijer store brand or meijer natural brand. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!! But bottom line, it's great to have organic options without having to pay big $$$$$. So, I may have to support the big chain place for these items. Sorry.
In other news, my sweet sister is 35 weeks pregnant with her twins!!!!! We are so so happy that she has made it to this point. She had a big scare at 29 weeks when she started to go into labor. She was admitted to the hospital for a few days to stop the labor. She has had more contractions since then and has made a few more trips to the hospital, but over all, things are going good! We are super excited to meet these babies!!!!
Graham is now 8 months old. What a precious boy he is. Every day is such a gift from God. I just love my little guy so so much. Love being his momma!!!!!
